I just realised I haven’t posted a blog about our 4th year fundraiser for our recitals. It took place a couple of months back at the Jazz Bar on Chambers Street in Edinburgh.
We had a great night and I even got talked into MCing the event at the last minute as the lecturer couldn’t make it. Lots of different styles of music on show, from Ekobirds, Becca Fox, The Jellyman’s Daughter, Rebecca Shearing, and yours truly!
My set included a couple of tracks as a duo with my good friend Emily Kelly (one half of The Jellyman’s Daughter). Those were ‘Age’ by Lianne La Havas and ‘Oh Darling!’ by The Beatles (inspired by the Sara Bareilles version). I also performed a Larry Carlton instrumental track called ‘Burnable’ before we finished my set with Lady Marmalade from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, along with Emily Kelly and Rebecca Shearing sharing vocal duties.
The great support from friends, family and general music fans meant that we raised a lot for our recitals.
We are also due to have another fundraiser on the 28th of March, so it would be great to have another big audience to play to!
