With years of live experience in numerous styles, as well as experience teaching students of both school age and college age, I have developed a range of skills suitable for helping students advance. Whether it be improving your ability for fun, to play live, or to prepare for an audition/pursue a career through the education system, I can help.

As a First-Class Honours graduate of Popular Music at Edinburgh Napier University, as well as having an HND in Music Performance from North Glasgow College – now Glasgow Kelvin College – I am aware of what these institutions are looking for in prospective students. Additionally, as a member of the Musicians’ Union, I can help out with any information you may have about the union, or the music industries in general.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you are looking to improve on any or all of the following:

  • Technique (Finger strength, independence, speed and accuracy)
  • Soloing/improvisation
  • Rhythm playing
  • Music theory/chord knowledge
  • Ear training
  • Reading skills

By mixing up formal graded tuition books, with pieces suggested by the student, the lessons can be formulated to suit the student and enhance your experience of learning your instrument.

Based in Chapelhall, near Airdrie, half-hour lessons are available, but hour-long slots are preferable.

£12 per ½ hour (first lesson £10)

£20 per hour (first lesson £15)
